Casual Respiratory Therapist
Overview Fairview Health Services is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Therapy team at our Lakes Medical Center location in Wyoming, MN . The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services as prescribed by a physician. Follows defined treatment protocol according to department policies. Collects, assesses, interprets, and intervenes as appropriate in the care of neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Ensures patient welfare and safety standards during treatments. Schedule: This position will be as casual.The shift length will be 8 hours as needed. This position will also work on the weekends as needed. The Respiratory Therpaist will also help float and cover hours at the Northland Hospital as well at time if needed. Responsibilities Job Description As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for: Perform Pulmonary Function test on ages 5 years and older. Perform 6 minute walk tests, ABG's, Methacholine testing, Pre/Post spirometry, DLCO, MIP/MEP, MVV, Pleth, nitrogen washout. Assessing patient needs and identifies expected outcomes. Implementing Respiratory interventions based on plan of care. Evaluating care and the patient’s response to interventions and expected outcomes. Delivering care as delegated by physician/authorized practitioner to assigned patient population, or individual patient. Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes. Operating and maintaining all Respiratory Care equipment. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Education Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field License/Certification/Registration Respiratory Therapist License issued by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice. Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) with 3 or more years of respiratory therapist experience in clinical setting Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Additional Requirements (must be obtained and maintained) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire Pediatric Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire Preferred Qualifications: Education Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field License/Certification/Registration Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) EEO Statement EEO/AA Employer/Vet/Disabled: All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to any lawfully protected status
