Casualty Claims Consultant - NY Labor Law
Aon is looking for a Casualty Claims Consultant We currently have a great career opportunity for a Aon Global Risk Consulting (AGRC), Construction & Infrastructure (C&I) Liability Claims Consultant. It is the responsibility of the Casualty Claims Risk Consultant to deliver tactical, client tailored, claims advocacy on construction accounts and identify opportunities to match AGRC service offerings to clients and prospects with an emphasis on New York Labor Law and associated risk transfer. The general role of our Casualty Claims Risk Consultant is to identify and advocate for: Accurate and timely reserves; Appropriate resolution strategies to expedite favorable resolutions particularly on claims involving New York Labor Law 200, 240 and 241(6) claims and related contractual risk transfer and additional insured issues; Maximized third party administrator (TPA) and insurer claim service; An expanded view of coverage; Improved efficiencies internal client processes and procedures; Improved client claim trending; Customized casualty consulting services for clients to help them reduce and lead their Total Cost of Risk; Improved client claim outcomes by examining and analyzing key elements and related costs of their claims programs and build best practice-oriented approaches to claims cost containment; The Introduction of appropriate Aon resources and provide project management to ensure commitments are met and results are achieved; And participate in limited involvement in business development opportunities as dictated by geographic needs. Duties and responsibilities Attend claim reviews, various client, TPA, insurer, vendor, defense counsel and colleague meetings, stewardships, kick offs, Aon and/or industry conferences, and/or site visits as needed both in person and virtually. Proactively identify and advocate on appropriate timely reserving, TPA/insurer claim service and expedited resolutions. Respond to client valuation, strategy and other claim related questions and comments. Maintain a timely diary. Participate in limited business development opportunities as needed. Meet or exceed assigned billable hours and utilization goals. Establish rapport and maintain positive working relationship with clients and colleagues. Adhere to established Best Practices and make recommendations for improvement, when appropriate. Maintain knowledge/skills as an insurance professional with an emphasis on liability construction emerging issues and New York Labor Law Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Provide advocacy on behalf of assigned clients relating to services rendered by carriers and/or TPAs to include the review and revision of account instructions, addressing client service concerns Assist Account Executives, Wrap up Program Managers, Brokers, Strategic Account Managers and Resident Managing Directors with renewals, client retention and cultivating client relationships Participate in telephonic or in-person claim reviews designed to expedite favorable resolutions, inclusive of documenting claim specific outcomes, action plans Conduct claim audits as appropriate Interact with other Aon Consulting team members, Business Development teams, Leadership, Account Executives, Producers, Brokers, other Aon business units, Markets, and Vendors Minimum qualifications and requirements Proven performer with strong technical knowledge and work experience adjusting or managing general liability claims or possess multi-line claims experience with emphasis on casualty lines of coverage. Maintain knowledge/skills as an insurance professional and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluent in Microsoft office suite, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Pay Transparency Laws: The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $140,000 to $160,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
