Casualty Claims Specialist

The Casualty Specialist role is to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle moderate complexity casualty claims in accordance with Aviva's procedures and philosophy. We have a strong focus on strategic indemnity and expense management, in addition to excellent customer service.

The successful candidate will thrive within a high-performance hybrid work culture, readily accept new challenges, and continually improve their knowledge and skills. The successful candidate will also serve as a mentor to their colleagues while displaying a strong technical ability.

What you'll do:

Interpret and confirm insurance coverage

Investigate, evaluate, and settle Casualty claims with claimants or their representatives

Direct and manage file investigations and if required instruct IAs as needed

Ensure file reserves are timely and accurate

Proactively manage communication with our customers and stakeholders

Clearly document and summarize file activity

Understand and support Aviva’s claim procedures and guidelines

Regular and proactive reviews of file strategy plans

What you'll bring:

5+ years of experience handling Casualty claims

University degree or equivalent

CIP or working towards CIP

Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment

Strong working knowledge of Personal and Commercial liability claims

Exceptional written and oral communication skills

Well-developed organizational skills

Adaptability, flexibility and integrity

Committed team player with a positive outlook and sense of humor

Able to work in a hybrid work environment

What You’ll Get:

The salary band for this position ranges from $55,600 - $103,200. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
