Reviews patient history and physician's ordersEducates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperationWhen ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practiceMonitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriatePrepares equipment and suppliesImplements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipmentTroubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessaryPositions patient and performs imaging procedure(s)Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging resultsTakes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedureEnters, transmits and reports scan results.

Associate's degree in radiologic technology; additional completion of CT technology certificate program preferred

Licenses/Certifications

State licensure and/or ARRT certificationBasic Life Support (BLS)

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervisionMust be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
