Become a Catalina Utilityman at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be in the Generation Organizational Unit based on Catalina Island. The Generation Organizational Unit is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of Southern California Edison's Generation assets which includes: hydro, solar, potable water, gas, combined cycle, and fuel cells.

Responsibilities
Performs a variety of routine and miscellaneous unskilled construction or maintenance laboring tasks as instructed or directed. Operates equipment such as light truck, automobile, tractor, forklift, air compressor, jackhammer, winch, hoist, chain, saw, weed burner, or power hand saw and drill. Performs similar and incidental duties as required in all phases of the Catalina operations electric, gas, water or generating plant. A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.Minimum Requirements
Knowledge of territory and locations of streets within the Catalina district. Valid California Driver License. Experience performing heavy physical work in a shop or field environment. Ability to work overtime on short notice. Ability to work a set work schedule of 6:00AM – 4:30PM (4/10 work schedule, 1 day off per week plus weekends off). Please Note: Daily commuting from the mainland to Catalina Island is not a viable option. All successful candidates must reside on Catalina.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to learn tools, material, and methods for construction and maintenance labor tasks; perform heavy manual labor; accurately determine registration of meters; learn and follow pertinent safety precautions.

If selected, you will be required to be located on Catalina Island and work at the Catalina Location. Please Note: Daily commuting from the mainland to Catalina Island is not a viable option.
