MISSION / SUMMARY:

The Catcher/Feeder’s (Finishing) primary responsibility is inspection, packing and palletizing of finishing products. Additionally, the Catcher/Feeder (Finishing) will be assigned to feed product into the Gluer machine.  This is achieved through identification good and poor quality work according to standards, adherence to packing specifications, and adhering to all Safety Requirements and Rules.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

Inspect finished product for defects according to customer/quality specifications. Pack & label boxes of finished product according to customer/quality specifications. Feeding gluer on rotation and assisting Operator. Palletize boxes of finished product according to customer/quality specifications. Completing required paperwork to accompany each job as well as labor reporting forms. Other duties as assigned.

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

Material handling & product inspection experience preferred. Powered industrial vehicle experience preferred. Manufacturing experience preferred. Computer skills preferred.

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

 

SPECIFIC SKILLS:

Ability to interact with customers, co-workers, and managers in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to work in a fast paced environment while meeting deadlines with quality production. Ability to work within safety rules/guidelines that are established by GPI

 

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

General schedules are 8-hour/5-day or 12-hour/7-day shifts on alternate days with rotating weekends off, however, employees must be willing to work alternate schedules or overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so. Occasional overnight travel to customer sites or training via auto, rail or air travel.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 12-hours. Awkward and/or repetitive movements. Lifting up to 50 lbs. Reading computer screen or other electronic devices. Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment.
