About the Position:

This position will work closely with and report to the Category Manager for Local Foods to update, improve, and expand the Local program at The Fresh Market.

We’ll be learning more about taste preferences and food trends across the country and applying that to The Fresh Market’s vision – to be the premier, fresh-focused specialty food retailer that inspires our guests to make every day eating extraordinary

What You'll Do:
Work with TFM stores, vendors, and internal TFM departments to facilitate the setup of new Local Collect and maintain Local vendor product information, quality assurance and legal documentation, and certificates of insuranceMaintain data integrity for UPC changes, cost/retail prices, promotions, and active/discontinued status of Local itemsProvide data to the Merchandising and Marketing teams regarding add/deletes of Local itemsAssist with recallsFollow up on guest experience inquiries about Local productsManage the Local sample inventory and product cutting schedulesSample collection for online shopping photographyShopping comparative retailers and price checking itemsQualifications:

At a minimum, you will need:

Bachelor’s degree preferredDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Outlook and Excel. 90% of job is done utilizing ExcelRetail merchandising, Local food, and/or food manufacturing experience a plusPassion for Local food and working with small-scale suppliers, providing a premier account-management experience for producers that is personal, professional, and supportiveIntrigue for food in general, a desire to learn more about where food comes from, who made it, what it pairs well with, how to prepare it for optimal flavor and textureStrong work ethic and intense attention to detailCapability for working in a fast paced, ever-changing work environment with a sense of urgency and persistenceExcellent time-management and organizational skillsTeam player attitude, ability to work both independently and in strong collaboration with peers and to build and maintain professional working relationshipsGood critical thinking ability, dedication and excitement around solving a problem and project completionSuperb written and verbal communication skills, comfortable speaking with others on the phone and via email
