Main purpose of the position:

As the Category Director for IT and Indirect, you will strategically oversee the procurement of IT and Indirect products and services, ensuring that ISS secures the best value in terms of cost, quality, and delivery. This involves developing and implementing comprehensive category strategies together with your team. The Category Director for IT and Indirect acts as a key advisor to senior management, providing recommendations on procurement matters to ensure a best in class procurement operation. By fostering strong supplier relationships and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, you will ensure that the company's IT and Indirect needs are met efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

 

What you’ll do:

Develop and implement IT and Indirect category strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery always aligned with organizational goals Leading a competent team of category managers covering IT and Indirect categories respectively and creating followership around you Driving sourcing processes (mobilization to contract signing) and negotiating agreements with suppliers to secure the best possible agreements Manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluation and improvement initiatives Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure alignment with procurement strategies and execution Monitor and report on category performance, including cost savings, supplier performance, and compliance Prepare business cases outlining challenges and situation, developing strategies and solutions, as well as plan for implementation of changes to drive strategic change

 

Who you’ll work with:

Our Head of Category Management will support you in setting direction and making prioritisation Our business stakeholders (IT, People & Culture, Legal, Marketing etc.) requesting the procurement of products and services Our procurement colleagues in ISS countries who procure using global contracts established centrally

 

Key qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience as a management consultant with a top tier consultancy and/or in a procurement or category management function. Strong sourcing and negotiation skills enabling you to seamlessly execute large global engagements Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities allowing you to break down complex problems into smaller, manageable parts, examining data, identifying patterns, and understanding the root causes of issues Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams Proficiency in commonly used tools such as the Microsoft suite, e-tendering software, ect.
