Home Care Business Group is €12 billion business. The BG is on a strategic journey to drive clean future by disrupting and transforming the cleaning industry from highly chemical dependents to green and sustainable cleaning, through innovation and premiumization. In parallel the Business Group priority is to step up profitability through net productivity (SC/BMI/Overheads), network transformation, concertation and premiumization together with selective portfolio rationalization. 

We are the emerging markets leader with No 1 or 2 position in our top countries. We have 3 key categories. Fabric Cleaning, Fabric Enhancers, Home and Hygiene. With the compass organization landing, Business Groups are now operating as an independent business within Unilever with full end to end P&L responsibility, a great opportunity to define and drive performance management and impact business decisions. 

The Global Home Care Finance team partners our global cross-functional business teams and other local finance teams to set and implement strategy, drive performance and ensure value generation in almost 100 markets that we operate in. JOB PURPOSE 

Based in London (100VE) and reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, role of Category Finance Analyst is to help develop and drive the financial strategy, business and innovation performance of multiple Home Care brands and be involved in developing and evaluating financial feasibility for innovation projects across categories.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Strategic Planning

Partner with Brand Manager/Directors in business modelling, competitor benchmarking, shadow P&Ls.Identify value opportunities that require a particular intervention / project support from Finance.Partner with Categories to conduct portfolio reviews

Innovation

Develop and lead business cases for BG led innovations, in collaboration with global brand teams, as well as the counterparts across CMI, R&D and supply chain globally and locally.Coordinate innovation post launch performance conversation together with innovation champions and BU finance, drive interventions if needed.

Cross Category

Lead various projects across categories, such as, Media Sufficiency/ROI, Competitor Analysis, Budget Management etc.

Qualification/Experience

Strong financial academic background.Relevant experience in finance business partnering roles.

Knowledge and SkillsBusiness and financial acumen with a proven track record of delivery.Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail and bias for action.Advance Excel skills. Ability to work fluidly with data and across systems. Ability to work collaboratively with other key stakeholders.High degree of flexibility and ability to quickly understand new topics. Accountability and responsibility.Strong prioritisation skills.

Location  

In June 2020 we announced our plan to consolidate a number of Unilever’s offices across the South East of England into a new Unilever campus in Kingston-upon-Thames in or around early 2025. However, on the 08 August 2024 we announced to our existing staff our proposal to retain our central Head Office in London, 100 Victoria Embankment (“100VE”) until our lease expires in 2027. As a result of this new proposal, we will be consulting with our existing staff, and new joiners who join during this period of consultation at 100VE, on the proposal made in August 2024. During consultation we will clarify the future location of each team and function. This means your role will either be based in 100VE until 2027 or in Kingston-Upon-Thames from early 2025. As we are yet to commence consultation on the proposal you agree, until such a time when consultation has concluded, your normal place of work as set out in the enclosed Statement of Terms & Conditions will be 100VE. You agree that on the conclusion of the consultation your place of work will be 100VE or 100VE until early 2025 and then Kingston-upon-Thames ("the locations") and you will be notified of which of the locations will be your place of work after that consultation ends.

Recruitment Fraud 

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs.  These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate. 

 

How is Unilever tackling this? 

Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down. 

 

What can I do?
