In this position... 

We are seeking a Head Lamp Buyer to be the lead for Ford's North American Exterior Lighting purchasing moving into the future. The evolution from combustion to electric vehicles is driving the need for new/additional lighting technologies going forward. Looking for a self-starter to take on the role as an expert in the exterior lighting field and help Ford transition technologies to the customer needs of Ford's customers.

The Ford Supply Chain team adds critical value to the entire organization. You’ll help us source the highest quality parts and services from around the globe while ensuring optimal cost and on-time delivery. You’ll also contribute to establishing a robust supply chain so that we can continually produce the vehicles our customers want.

You'll have... 

Bachelor’s Degree. 3+ years of purchasing, procurement, and/or sourcing experience. Ability to evaluate and analyze data to enable operational decision-making and present clear recommendations to peers, suppliers and executive leadership. Conduct sourcing evaluations / business case studies (e.g., landed cost studies, component tooling optimizations, quality costs evaluations) Ability to build network relationships with cross-functional skill teams (Engineering, STA, Finance, Studio, and OGC) Skills necessary to prioritize assignments and multitask to achieve goals

Even better, you may have...

5+ years of purchasing, procurement, and/or sourcing experience. Project Management skills and process discipline. Examples of leading a collaborative team and finding and implementing efficiencies Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint; SAP skills a plus.

This position is a range of salary grades 6-8 .

What you'll do...

Lead supplier commercial negotiations. Develop supplier strategies and maintain strong supplier partnerships. Quote and negotiate pricing with suppliers for the purchase of production parts, tooling, and services. Lead Global Exterior Lighting team and ensure continuity to Commodity Business Plan. Complete sourcing activities and recommend suppliers for new program lamps. Establish and implement sourcing strategy for exterior headlamps. Lead weekly Global Commodity Team meeting agenda, discussion topics, and publish meeting minutes. Assist in the resolution of cost, quality, and delivery issues affecting the supply. Work with other Buyers, Engineering and Studio, to develop strategies and implement solutions. Identify and implement cost reductions. Negotiate commercial cost savings and avoidances for suppliers requesting cost increases. Support cross-functional partners in cost and quality initiatives. Present ideas and strategies to executive management.
