About the role:
North America Marketing Procurement plays a significant role in achieving Diageo North America's business productivity and growth goal! The Customer Marketing VAP (Value-Added Packing), Coupons, and Graphic Services categories seek an individual who will deliver substantial value to our business and ensure that Diageo’s marketing investments fuel brand growth.These categories are critical to achieving our Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and 2030 goals. The primary accountability for this role is to drive value by ensuring the commercial aspects of spending in these categories are driven brilliantly with our vendors.
This role will lead sourcing decisions with key stakeholders and support the delivery of value-driving initiatives. Additionally, this individual will manage supplier relationships, compliance and risk, financial reporting, and critical metric reporting.
The successful candidate will bring procurement and marketing experience to enhance our understanding of the supplier landscape, innovations, technologies, and processes that deliver value and reduce risks. The role involves contributing to key areas such as coupon value chain enhancements, VAP design & sustainability planning and execution, supplier capabilities assessment, value chain efficiencies identification, effective programming implementation. We seek a candidate who can help determine how value is captured and measured.
Role Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities:Develop category strategies
Develop a solid understanding of industry landscapes, business trends, and navigation strategies.
Deliver year projects that drive savings, cost avoidance and value add
Demonstrate strong commercial competence and judgment to bring value.
Establish agency partnerships and structure deals effectively.
Exhibit robust project management skills along with operational change management capabilities.
Develop team profiles as authentic business partners within a global enterprise.
Build trust quickly with partners through credibility.
Devise and carry out category strategies for VAPs/Coupons/Graphic Services.
Maintain personal accountability for excellent performance and brilliant execution.
Collaborate with Marketing, Customer Marketing, Legal & Finance teams at Diageo North America; engage with NA/Global Procurement colleagues to drive continuous improvement agendas.
Create annual operating plans that meet or exceed value delivery targets.
Set joint objectives with partners; conduct agency business reviews reflecting achievements against critical metrics; analyze performance gaps; actively manage continuous improvement efforts.
Complete category programs under their responsibility through great execution.
Deliver excellence benefits via sourcing strategies: demand management; supplier relationship management; contract management; supplier development/innovation initiatives.
Serve as a key interface ensuring full stakeholder engagement maximizing commercial advantage minimizing risk assuring quality delivery/performance consistently promoting the highest ethics/compliance standards.
Additional Responsibilities:Freight:
Manage logistics operations optimizing freight costs ensuring timely deliveries across all customer marketing categories (POS, Experiential, VAP, Coupons)
Implement standard methodologies improving transportation efficiency reducing carbon footprint.
Fulfillment:
Oversee inventory levels ensuring product availability meeting customer demands.
Streamline fulfillment processes enhancing order accuracy/speed.
Warehousing:
Optimize warehouse space utilization implementing efficient storage solutions.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations maintaining high standards.
Complexity of the Role:
This role involves working across various complex projects involving multiple partners requiring financial knowledge for budget/savings recognition, influencing communication skills and bringing partners, and suppliers onboard successful project implementations.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred.
Minimum three years’ procurement experience within FMCG or agency environments.
Proficiency in procurement skills including strategy development negotiations forecasting benchmarking required.
Strong analytical abilities forensic cost driver understanding targeting influencing cost reductions end-to-end.
Ability working agile fast-paced environments prioritizing according business needs.
Strong communication influencing skills internal external stakeholder engagement.
