Category Manager, Indirect & Logistics

SCOPE OF ROLE

The Category Manager will be responsible for developing our APAC Indirect Procurement and logistics strategy, leading projects, and delivering year-over-year total cost improvement. Activities include gathering and analyzing spend and price data, identifying opportunities for consolidated negotiations based on operating company data, evaluating, and selecting preferred carriers, negotiating, and implementing price agreements, managing and improving carrier performance, leading workshops and kaizens, and monitoring project savings against policy deployment goals.  This position is part of the enterprise Indirect Procurement and Logistics team that has responsibility for approximately $$30? million per year in purchased Indirect and logistics services.  This leader will be required to drive APAC strategy leadership, aligning with enterprise, segment, and regional stakeholders to deploy strategies that drive value and sustainability in our supply chain. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans, organizes, directs, controls and communicates all strategic sourcing activities related to Indirect procurement and logistics services, supporting all Regal Rexnord businesses in the regionEstablish primary and secondary preferred carriers for each major lane by modeAs a designated owner of the APAC Indirect spend proactively identify areas of opportunities by analyzing data and work with the Global category managers to tailor regional category strategy and lead implementation Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future (industry trends in pricing and availability that will impact the business) costs, and prepares required market analysis reports  Actively manage supplier relationships, conduct quarterly business reviews, and address carrier performance issues as necessary.Collaborates with Regal Rexnord segments and corporate team on the preparation of Request for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Quotations (RFQs), reverse auctions and leads the screening and supplier selection process  Develop KPIs, scorecards & dashboards and publish on monthly basis with primary objective of driving year over year performance improvements (Cost, On Time Delivery, Service)Conducts brainstorming sessions at facilities with cross functional teams to identify strategic opportunities and deployment priorities on cost saving initiatives. Works with global facilities to create regional and global transportation cost savings funnels that align with commercial strategies and financial targets  Drives spend analysis, including counter measures for projects that fall short of plan and makes decisions to remedy the issues to get the teams back on track to meet or exceed plan  Create and regularly update routing guide for each major mode of transportEstablish and lead commodity teams, workshops, through a “dotted line” support organization, as appropriateProactively assesses internal and external process improvements and influences effective change and drive innovation and continuous improvements  Must be willing and able to travel on a regular basis (50%)

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

BA or BS degree preferably in Supply Chain/Operations Management, minimum in a business/industrial related field   5 years’ experience working in industrial manufacturing environment with experience in Indirect procurement and logisticsExperience working in a multinational organization with the matrix structure requiredLanguages: fluent written and spoken, Chinese and EnglishDevelop and implement regional sourcing strategies using category management methodologyPossesses an understanding of total cost of ownershipProven success of supplier development strategies and related performance improvements  Direct experience in, Carrier Management, 3rd party freight payment process is preferred.Policy Deployment experience and knowledge of 80/20 and LEAN principals is preferredExperience working with multiple locations globally  Ability to work independentlyProblem resolution skills and root cause analysis experience requiredFull proficiency in use of computer tools including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Exchange for effective analysis and communication requiredConsistent performance in delivering annual cost reductions linked to category strategyAbility to work comfortably in ambiguous situations, know how to resolve conflicts and have a proven track record of achieving analytical & project resultsAbility to work well in a multicultural, cross functional environmentDemonstrated effectiveness in communicating concepts and recommendations and gaining acceptance and commitment required
