Job Description

Danfoss is looking for a Procurement Category manager, who will be responsible for managing the suppliers of Casting, Forging & Capex, MRO Commodity

In this role you will become part of a global organization within the Danfoss Refrigeration and A/C Controls (RAC) Division. You will report to the Regional Head of Procurement and be based out of Monterrey, Mexico

The Category managers is responsible for end-to-end management of allocated category suppliers not limited to Price, Quality, Delivery performance, implementation of Engineering & Customer request, Cost optimization ideas etc,.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Lead and coordinate strategy activities in the category team and across Danfoss Accelerate cost-down impact from suppliers driving and executing a sustainable savings pipeline across all levers while utilizing cross-functional teams Develop and implement sourcing strategies for the assigned categories Actively engage with key stakeholders from the relevant Business Line(s) to gather business requirements and specifications within the region and incorporate into sourcing strategies, supplier selections and decisions Work closely with (local and regional) stakeholders and act as a strong link between the sites and the category managers to identify needs and opportunities to reduce cost and improve procurement processes at the sites; align technical and commercial requirements and secure total cost of ownership solutions and long-term partnership with key suppliers. Actively research trends within sub-category and technology incl. how other industries impact the sub-category e.g. supply, pricing, investments etc. Take full and proactive responsibility for supplier performance Lead an effective supplier relationship management acting as the Danfoss key account and supplier development activities Effective Project Management on assigned Category Communicate with suppliers, internal customers, management and stakeholders about progress, risks and roadblocks in running projects Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering 10 to 12 years of experience in Procurement, preferably from Casting, Forging & Capex category Experience in negotiation and excellent communication skills Excellent analytical and project management skills Positive and open-minded attitude with solid communication skills in English Dedicated, goal-oriented and thrive on working in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams Hands on experience in SAP Hana, SAP BI and reporting tools.
