As Category Manager you will be managing the execution of sourcing strategies in Americas for defined Raw Material Categories. As a key member of the Global Procurement team, your negotiation skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams and matrix organizations are the keys to the success in this position.   Annual purchases managed by this position vary depending on the assigned portfolio. You will report to a Senior Category Manager at the Pittsburgh, PA office.  

Responsibilities:

•    Execute global sourcing strategy in the Americas Region for your category that aligns with business needs, mitigates identified risks, and maximize value opportunities for PPG globally.      
•    Negotiate with suppliers at regional levels to secure raw materials needed with advantageous terms for PPG.
•    Establish accurate forecasted raw material market movements and effectively communicate movements with global category managers.     
•    Establish and manage relationships with key suppliers and business stakeholders in Americas region.
•    Align and collaborate with global and regional category managers to deliver savings and working capital targets to bring value to PPG’s bottom line.

Requirements 

•    Bachelor’s degree in chemistry/chemical engineering 
•    2-5 years in chemical industry – previous coatings industry experience preferred.
•    Data analysis and critical thinking skills 
•    Change Management
