Job Summary

The position of Category Manager is within procurement as a key member of the Nuclear Integrated Sourcing Team (IST) Responsible for the management of complex and difficult categories with an annual spend of $5-$200 million. The categories are primarily focused on services, equipment, and materials in support of  PSEG Nuclear.

Manager is responsible for overseeing the spend analysis, market analysis, strategic vision, sourcing, negotiations, contract development, implementation, rollout, and supplier relationship management for all commodities within the Strategic Sourcing Group. 

Manager must maintain focus on safety, quality, reliability, and continuity of supply at all times. Form and lead cross-functional business teams to develop and implement category management and supplier management purchase strategies delivering significant value and savings (or lowest total cost of ownership) to the company. 
 

Job Responsibilities Responsibilities include fostering change management, extensive client relationship management, communicating contractual commitments, and representing PSEG in the external marketplace. Typical areas of involvement include managing the development of contracts for individual nuclear projects as well as management of  strategy development and negotiating agreements for spend categories to support continuing requirements of the nuclear business.  Spend could include categories such as Maintenance & Modification Services, Engineering Services, Refueling Outage Support, Non Destructive Examination, Spent Fuel Storage, Radwaste Processing Transportation and Disposal, and Diving Services in support of nuclear power generation.   Although the focus is on the nuclear business this position is responsible for identifying and leveraging synergies across all lines of business. Must be a clear communicator as well as a strong leader who is capable of managing multiple direct reports.  Job Specific Qualifications Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance or Engineering 7 years of experience in procurement, category management, contract management or strategic sourcing   Must demonstrate experience/familiarity with material and service category management, contract management, and supplier management  Strong analytical, market analysis and cost modeling skills  Team facilitation, presentation and team leadership skills  Must have experience with and the potential to lead large complex work teams and projects Strong change management (people and process) skills and client relationship skills Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to make clear and concise presentations  Thorough knowledge of contract terms and strong negotiation skills  Strong computer skills: Excel, Word and PowerPoint Ability to obtain Nuclear Unescorted Access
