What's the Opportunity?
The Category Manager is responsible for analyzing spend across all Aecon Divisions and Joint Venture project and for formulation and execution of strategies for cost structure transformation and cost reduction. The Category Manager is also responsible vendor performance management and contract performance for given categories. The position requires commercial acumen and development of sufficient technical knowledge to professionally manage a category. Familiarity with construction industry and financial concepts is an asset since the results of the position are measured in terms of EBITDA efficiencies (TCO).
What You’ll Do Here:
Responsible for the cost structure transformation across a given category of spend Development of category strategy roadmaps that are congruent with Aecon’s competitive strategy Ensure a seamless roll-out of category strategy initiatives across the organization that deliver results in-line with the category strategy Promote utilization of preferred supplier agreements across all level of Aecon and Joint Venture projects Analysis of existing and new industry trends within a given category Develop and maintain supplier contracts and responsible for contract performance Relationship management with vendors and internal stakeholders Responsible for continuous improvement of existing category strategy programs Support operational excellence across the organization related to a given categoryPotential Categories
