We are looking for an experienced Category Manager to join our team in our sourcing department in Brno, CZ.

Role description:

Leading and cooperating on sourcing projects.Supporting engineering, purchasing and production in sourcing activities, recommending suppliers for motor & drive components setting up & following global sourcing strategy.Leading and participating on VAVE, PPV projects, supplier consolidation.Pricing negotiations with suppliers and coordination with EMEA sourcing manager final approval.Finding new technologies suitable for product improvement.

Main Activities:

Leading and participating on PPV, VAVE projectsResponsible for project leadership and cooperation with other departments working on project – e.g. process engineering, engineering, quality, purchasing…Responsible for creation of timing plan related to the projects and for keepingUpdate databases - and tools to manage continues improvement projects -Responsible for identification and resource allocation needed for projectsSearching for opportunities to localize currently used commoditiesSupporting PL transfers (supply chain localization)Participate on supplier consolidation and E-O initiativeBringing proposals for new technologies, product improvements, looking forpotential new suppliers in various commoditiesPart of new potential supplier evaluation (e.g. technical and quality audits at supplier´s facilities)DBS / Kaizen activitiesResponsible for PD KPI metrics (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Service)Follows safety rules and processes related to given role

Required Qualification:

Formal education: Technical University degree or technical secondary school: machinery or electronics educationWorking Experiences: experience in foreign international company is advantage as well as previous work on some purchasing/logistics or engineering position with experience in projects management

Crucial knowledges & skills:

English language – fluently speaking + writing incl. technical terminology; other language (German) on some level would be advantageVery good technical skills, good orientation in products and parts portfolio used in Kollmorgen, experience from servo motor business, drives as advantage.Good communications skills; necessary to communicate across the Brno team and across the global Sourcing & Engineering teamGood negotiation skills or very good ability to develop in this direction (experience appreciated), potential to negotiate and prepare contracts conditionsKnowledge of some IT systems (SAP, ORACLE, …) is advantage, very good usage of Word, Excel, Power Point are requestedExperience in project leadership, PSP and similar is welcomeDriving license (group B) requested
