Context
▪ In 2024, the Industrial Solutions & Projects Business Group will separate from the Nexans Group to become an independent company.
▪ Our future company, which will become a reality at the end of 2024, boasts double-digit growth, prospects for expansion in sectors at the heart of the energy and industrial transition, with an international presence close to our customers.

▪ As part of our separation, we need to set up our own support teams for the central functions: Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems, Purchasing and Legal. More than 50 positions are being created to form new, autonomous teams.

Objectives
▪ The Category Manager Plastic & Raw Material defines the purchasing strategy of the categories, according to the vision of the management, and ensures the alignment of the practices of the countries and the BUs on which he / she works
▪ He / she maximizes value creation within the Commodities category, through coordination between partners and purchasers.
▪ He / she manages the development of the main suppliers using margin levers to ensure business continuity.
▪ He / she coordinates the raw material within his reach.
▪ He / she carries the implementation of qualification projects and alternative materials on its perimeter.
▪ He / she oversees the management of these categories for the Business Group to which he / she is attached
▪ He / she oversees the earnings rollout plan and the monthly monitoring of the impact of the purchase actions on his perimeter.
▪ He / she oversees innovation research with suppliers.
▪ He / she is responsible for deploying and monitoring the product and service innovation roadmap
▪ He / she oversees the formal review of supplier performance once a year

Area of responsabilities
STRATEGY & MANAGEMENT
▪ Defines the 3 to 5 year strategic purchasing plan of its category using the Alliance methodology (local / company, long-term / opportunistic, partners / privileged, market share, brand or purchase ...) and implements the plan of execution
▪ Contributes to the definition of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in accordance with the strategic plan and monitors the performance of its category.
▪ Implements short-term, medium-term and long-term improvement action plans.
▪ Defines purchasing standards and indicators adapted to its category (standard contractual models, performance grid ...)
▪ Conducts a purchasing risk analysis and defines mitigation plans
▪ Performs an expenditure analysis
 

TRANSACTIONAL PURCHASING
▪ Definition of needs in terms of challenges (recasting, functional analysis, standardization ...)
▪ Consolidate needs at the appropriate level (Business Group, Business Unit, Local)
▪ Supports the definition of functional specifications (decision matrix for information request / quote, etc.)
▪ Defines the panel of suppliers for consultation
▪ Performs information / quote requests
▪ Lead negotiations to select the best supplier (based on cost breakdown, total cost of ownership - TCO and risk elements)
▪ Manages contracts and monitoring (customization, deployment, performance evaluation)
▪ Contributes to the reduction of requests and complexity
▪ Implements and follows continuous improvement programs
 

MARKET INTELLIGENCE
▪ Analyzes market trends (products, suppliers and customers) and cost drivers globally
▪ Establishes market benchmarks (customers, competitors, suppliers)
▪ Constructs the product cost structure
▪ Identifies and offers alternative products in its category
▪ Contributes to the definition of the sourcing strategy • - Coordinates and / or leads supplier sourcing globally (including in major competitive countries - LCC)
▪ Defines the reverse marketing approach in its category
▪ Coordinate a solution testing and certification for a possible contractual agreement
 

SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT
▪ Defines supplier categorization (ABC classification,)
▪ Manages supplier relationships with a class of suppliers in its class
▪ Updates the vendor portfolio of its class
▪ Coordinates vendor performance monitoring in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
▪ Coordinates the implementation of continuous improvement programs (CIP)
▪ Promotes the deployment of the framework agreement for its category
▪ Participate in productivity audits and monitoring
 

Required skills and qualification

▪ 8 years or more in experience. 

▪ Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
▪ Excellent interpersonal, team oriented, negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills
▪ Ability to work independently, to prioritize work, to manage time efficiently, to delegate to direct reports when appropriate support function cost
▪ MS office skills, including Excel spreadsheet modeling and PowerPoint charts,
