Role Overview
The Chains and Category Marketing Assistant Manager is a critical contributor to Unilever Food Solutions’ (UFS) growth strategy, responsible for full category ownership and strategic marketing executions. This role leads the development of category strategy, innovation pipeline, and 12-quarter planning, while also driving in-market communication campaigns and channel executions. The role also is seen as a critical contributor in partnering with key accounts managers who handle the largest customers, to deliver insightful, data-driven proposals for new dish launch concepts and marketing activations to drive customer dishes with UFS SKUs.
Key Responsibilities
Category Ownership – Strategy and Business Performance
1. Monitor and manage business performance of assigned categories, ensuring delivery against growth and profitability targets.
2. Own the end-to-end category strategy, including innovation pipeline, ensuring launches are done on time and in full. Work with internal cross-functional teams to implement product innovations and transitions, ensuring launches are on time and in full
3. Implement marketing campaigns for strategic categories or products, ensuring full impact and alignment with customer needs. Collaborate with creative and media agencies to develop and execute marketing materials and media plans.
4. Closely coordinate with CD team on product transitions and launches, to ensure full implementation of programs and launches across all customers: Work with CD teams to plan and execute product transitions and launches. Ensure all marketing materials and communications are ready and distributed in a timely manner to support smooth product launch.
Chains Business Partnering
1. Be a strategic marketing partner to Chains Key Account Managers (KAMs), co-developing customer-facing business proposals, ideations, and activation plans.
2. Directly contribute to the creation of insightful and data-driven presentations for chain customers, including dish ideations, off-take generating campaigns, and communication efforts that drive usage of UFS SKUs in customer menus.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in marketing, preferably in FMCG or foodservice.
• Experience in customer-facing roles or working with KAMs is highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong analytical and insighting skills with the ability to translate data into strategy.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Project management skills with attention to detail and timelines.
• Collaborative mindset with a bias for action and cross-functional coordination.
Preferred Attributes
• Familiarity with UFS categories such as Scratch Cooking, Condiments, and emerging innovations.
• Experience in campaign execution, product transition planning, and regulatory coordination.
• Passion for food, customer-centric marketing, and driving business impact.
