OVERVIEW:
This job is responsible for defining and executing the non-merchandise sourcing and procurement strategy for Supply Chain and Strategy at Dick's Sporting Goods.
Key responsibilities and objectives include:
Implement the category management strategy supported by optimal sourcing and procurement strategies
Actively manage and enhance key supplier relationships
Actively engage in sourcing projects and oversee project execution from a team of analysts
Mitigate overall business risk
Drive process standardization and financial transparency.
This job must actively work with internal stakeholders, be viewed as a trusted advisor and be comfortable presenting to and interacting with executive management.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Work closely with executive level, functional management to develop, implement and communicate the procurement category management strategy while adeptly managing the existing business infrastructure. This includes but is not limited to analysis of current spend and the supply base, analysis of supply markets and market trends and identification and understanding of key cost drivers.
Lead the development and implementation of optimal sourcing and procurement strategies, including: Request-for-information (RFI), Request-for-proposal (RFP), eAuction, benchmarking and direct negotiation. This necessitates strong collaboration with the back office non-merchandise procurement team, as well as internal stakeholders to identify and anticipate their requirements.
Work closely with executive level, functional management to develop and enhance key supplier relationships by executing supplier relationship management activities. This includes implementation of key metrics and scorecards to measure supplier compliance and to sustain and improve quality.
Drive greater process adherence and understanding, as well as financial transparency across the business.
Facilitates the contract review process between the business, the supplier and legal.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Economic, Finance, or related Business Field. MBA (Preferred), CPM/CPSM (Preferred).
7-10 years of experience in Non-merchandise/Indirect sourcing expertise with a focus on Supply Chain and Strategy categories to be overseen, demonstrated experience using sourcing and procurement tools and technology, retail experience is a plus
Strong communication and presentation skills and a comfort around executive management
Expertise in spend data analytics
Strong sourcing and procurement knowledge with pragmatism to manage expectations
Strong negotiation and project management skills
Knowledge of legal contract terminology and conditions
