The Category Specialist role is an intermediate level position within the supply chain category management and new product development functions. This role will support the organization by gathering and manipulating spend and commodity data in support of sourcing strategies and category management. The Category Specialist will be the subject matter expert for SDX which is the software that supports our Directed Buy program for raw materials

YOUR IMPACT

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

Data gathering and manipulation.Knowledge of data analytics tools; data analytics in a specific commodity/category.Enter all new parts into SDX every quarter and meet with top fabricators every quarter to ensure forecast accuracy.Knowledge of suppliers and supply markets.Knowledge of supplier relationships management and engagement.Understand supply market trends and how they impact the business.Skill for engineering technical drawings understanding taxonomy and technical grammar.Gain an understanding of the raw material marketplace including mills, processors and fabricators.Perform the True Up process that happens every month and is paid quarterly.Work with SDX to run the report that becomes the annual raw materials RFQ.Train all participants in the Directed Buy program on SDX and expectations of them within the tool.Support the annual RFQ and translate the results into fabricator pricing for each fabricator.Actively participate in the Raw Material council meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree and three (3) or more years of experience in Supply Chain Management or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to travel 10-20%.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Purchasing experience within the manufacturing industry.Ability to effectively communicate.Ability to work in a team environment.Strong organizational skills with exceptional follow through and attention to detail.Strong time-management and prioritization skills, able to multi-task and prioritize competing requirements and meet deadlines.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where requirements are constantly changing.Expertise and proficiency with various web-based software applications including Microsoft Office Word, ExcEl, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc. Basic Finance / Accounting acumen for the True Up process

Pay Range:

$72,200.00 - $116,200.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
