Cath Lab Tech

Cath lab technicians are cardiovascular technologists who work in our facilities and run tests on heart health. They assist with the insertion of catheters into the heart, and are responsible for measuring and administering special fluids.

Sets up trays and equipment appropriate to procedureScrubs and assists physician with catheter, wire and balloon exchangesOperates cineradiographic equipment, moving camera to appropriate and desired positionsApplies proper radiation safety techniques to ensure the safety of the patient, physician and staffEnsures proper image acquisition and archivalDocuments hemodynamic data during proceduresOperates Point of care testing equipmentAble to operate a variety of diagnostic equipment including IABP, IVUS, FFR, etcAble to work in a stressful environment with acutely ill patientsAble to communicate effectively to others in written and verbal formsAble to respond to Stemi call alerts within 30 minutesParticipates as a team member and is accountable for their own workParticipates in Quality Improvement ActivitiesEducation: Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or cardiovascular technology program.
Certifications: BLS and ACLS certification required.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience - Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, and/or Special Procedures experience is strongly preferred.
