Responsible for driving straight truck with capacity of more than three tons and usually with more than six wheels to transport materials to and from specified destinations, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and area roads.


Principal Accountabilities:

1. Prepares receipts for load picked up and stops at required weigh and check stations.
2. Ensures accuracy of logs and other required documentation.
3. Ensures payment for goods delivered and for delivery charges.
4. Maintains truck log, according to State and Federal regulations.
5. Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions and load and unload truck. 
6. Performs inspection of the truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
7. Performs emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.
