Job Duties Drive a tractor trailer to safely transport product from distribution centers to stores and vendors. Truck drivers follow safe practices and adhere to driving regulations to serve customers, stores, and DCs in a professional and timely manner. Obtain and review driver itinerary and assigned deliveries. Perform pre-trip inspections of trucks and trailers according to DOT regulations. Couple tractors to trailers Drive safely to destination Spot and drop trailers Hook up empty trailers and prepare for transport to next destination. Fuel tractor, spot trailers, and complete driver and trip documentation. Perform all post-trip responsibilities such as safety checks, securing tractor-trailer, completing DOT logs, company vehicle maintenance reports (DVIR), and reporting or notification to leadership or mechanic shop. Communicate with Transportation team and other associates to support smooth and continuous flow of goods. Demonstrate awareness and compliance with Loss Prevention and safety policies and/or procedures. Qualifications Possess a valid Class A CDL and current DOT medical card. Good driving record with no major violations or accidents in last 3 years. Prefer 5+ years CDL truck driving experience. HazMat endorsement preferred; or willingness to obtain within 120 days. Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety protocols. Basic Microsoft Office and knowledge of software used for Electronic Logging Devices (ELD).
