CEI ITS Inspector
**This Opportunity** WSP is seeking a CEI ITS Inspector located in Atlanta. **Your Impact** Job Duties: + General-level technical work supporting higher-level inspectors and engineers in functional areas such as construction inspection and surveying; scheduling and status; roadway design; traffic signal equipment; traffic signalization and geometrics; materials sampling; inspection and testing. Work usually involves a significant amount of decision-making and use of judgment and may include providing work directions to others. + Independent complex inspections of roadways and structure construction processes and materials to assure compliance with the construction contract. + Perform moderately complex inspections; or supervise other inspectors conducting routine and standardized inspections. + Work includes inspection of ITS and fiber optic networks (installation and testing); inspecting asphalt and concrete for acceptable materials and mix; pavement for proper spreading, rolling, depth, alignment, and compaction; roadways and structures for conformance to plans, and specifications; structural materials and members; placement of culverts; structural operations such as foundation excavation; placement of piling, reinforcing and structural steel, concrete and backfill; and traffic control and erosion control devices. + Perform a more complex variety of calculations and computations. Employee will perform contract documentation duties, which include field measurements of pay items as well as other Department required documentation. + Work may include participating in Concept Meetings, Field Plan Reviews (Preliminary and/or Final), CPM schedule reviews, project close-out, and other duties and responsibilities as assigned. + Work Requires statewide travel and some overnight stay **Who You Are** Minimum Requirements: + High School Diploma + 7 years of relevant experience + Demonstrated knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in highway construction; and considerable knowledge of mathematical functions including geometry and trigonometry. + Skills in drafting and use of office equipment such as calculators and computers. + Ability to read, interpret, and explain such things as construction plans, contract provisions, specifications, and inspection procedures + Ability to take notes and prepare or review reports; and ability to instruct other employees in proper work methods. + Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written). Licensed to operate motor vehicles in accordance with Georgia Law. Certifications: + Passing scores on GDOT’s Engineering Skills Development tests – Group 1 (Basic Highway Plan Reading, Basic Construction Surveying, and Basic Highway Math) within 6 months from date of hire + Passing scores on GDOT’s Engineering Skills Development tests – Group 2 (Asphalt Paving, Base Course Inspection, Excavation and Embankment, and Erosion Control) within 6 months from Date of Hire + GDOT WECS. + GDOT Field Concrete Technician Certification. + GSWCC Level 1a (Erosion Control). **About WSP** WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of WSP, one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
