What we need 

We are looking for a Test Engineer to join our Cell Test Engineering team within our System Test organization. Your job will be to develop test plans from design and functional specifications and execute various test methods for components to system level equipment within our fully autonomous warehouse automation system.   

What we do 

The Cell Test Engineering team is part of the System Test organization which is a multidisciplinary group dedicated to validating the performance of Symbotic’s warehouse automation system and driving the highest standards of quality and reliability. System Test is responsible for all aspects of test planning and execution, from early-stage new product development initiatives to continuous improvement of our products in the field.  

What you’ll do 

Develop test plans from design and functional specifications for components to system level equipment. 

Design test methods for in-house production and with supplier partners.  

Develop and implement manual and automated test fixtures as required. 

Execute developed test plans and deliver results on time.  

Execute verification test for new PLC code releases and regression test for bug fixes. 

< 10% travel required. 

What you’ll need 

BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Robotics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Science, etc.). 

0-2 years of experience working with industrial control and automation systems with a high degree of hardware and software complexity.   

Experience planning and implementing various test methods (functional, regression, reliability, recovery, etc.) particularly in physical environments. 

Experience with networked data collection and experience with device communications (i.e. CAN, Modbus, OPC).​
