About the role The Cellar Technician ensures that all cellar operations are performed efficiently and in accordance with Treasury Wine Estates (TWE) highest quality standards, ensuring optimal wine quality and production flow. The role varies in terms of responsibilities, with increasing complexity and leadership requirements at each level. Key responsibilities include and not limited to: Cellar Operations: + Supervise all cellar operations, including tanker truck receiving and shipping. Coordinate with key stakeholders for logistics and tank management. + Oversee all wine transfers and ensure that wine deliveries to the bottling line meet TWE’s high-quality standards. + Lead wine adjustments, blending, and other critical wine operations, ensuring quality control and consistency. + Monitor and supervise the maintenance, sanitation, and proper storage of all filtration equipment. Leadership & Team Management: + Ensure adherence to SOPs and quality standards. + Delegate and oversee the execution of complex work orders and operational tasks. + Provide training on advanced processes and equipment, ensuring a high level of competency in the cellar team. Operational Improvement & Innovation: + Lead continuous improvement initiatives in cellar operations, focusing on wine quality, cost reduction, waste minimization, and safety. + Conduct analyses and problem-solving to improve efficiency and resolve issues within the cellar. Safety & Compliance: + Ensure strict adherence to all TWE Environmental, Health & Safety policies and HACCP guidelines. + Lead the team in maintaining BRC audit compliance and operational safety standards. Communication & Decision Making: + Make decisions regarding operational issues, ensuring the timely delivery of wine and materials while maintaining quality. + Communicate complex issues and performance updates to Packaging Winemaker, Production Scheduler, and higher-level management. + Collaborate with external suppliers, winemaking teams, and logistics partners to ensure smooth operations. About You The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. + High school diploma or GED (higher education preferred). + Previous cellar or winemaking experience is preferred, with increasing years of experience for each level (3+ years for Tech III). + Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work as part of a team. + Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus for all levels. + Advanced Knowledge of wine cellar operations, leadership experience, and the ability to manage more complex tasks and teams. + Advanced knowledge of cellar operations such as tanker receiving, wine transfers, blending, and filtration. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. Our expectation is that the incumbent will work out of our St Helena location. If the incumbent works out of another location, the wage rate may fall above or below this range. Treasury reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
