Job Summary:
The Center Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support for the assigned center. The
Center Assistant will work collaboratively with teachers to ensure the successful operation of a classroom
with a total of 14 to 20 children. This position is part-time and will be used both in a classroom and as
administrative support on a daily basis.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs receptionist support by answering phones, checking and distributing mail daily, filing
documents into binders and child files, as well as greeting and assisting parents.
Aids parents during the application and enrollment process.
Prepares correspondence which includes typing newsletters, flyers, and translations of documents.
Coordinates orders and expenses, which includes acquiring managerial approval for expenses
incurred, janitorial supplies, office supplies, and other orders.
Engages in data entry and data management including the Wisconsin Accident Reports
Provides information as requested by various departments.
Follows classroom curriculum as scheduled during the time of coverage.
Establishes and maintains a safe, healthy learning environment, including maintaining required
adult-child ratio and proper supervision of children at all times.
Supports the social and emotional development of children and using “positive guidance”
approaches to dealing with challenging behaviors.
Interacts with children in an appropriate and supportive manner.
Works effectively with other teacher(s) in the assigned classroom and center.
Follows all Acelero Learning policies and procedures related to health, safety, nutrition, and other
aspects of center operations.
Supports partnership with delivery of services.
Participates in assigned meetings, events and training as required.
Non-Essential Duties:

Job Requirements:
1. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma required.
2. CDA credential or proof of enrollment in coursework on track for completion within one year of
hire; or a degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with at least nine (9) credits in Early
Childhood Education; or enrolled to complete a degree (with related credits) within one year of
hire required.
3. At least one year of previous experience working in an early childhood education center.
4. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
5. Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
Demonstrated computer literacy skills, especially using Google Suite apps; spreadsheets,
basic data management systems and internet navigation.
Must be honest, dependable and able to meet deadlines.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit most of the time with some bending and reaching.
Ability to stand, walk, and bend periodically.
Ability to engage in repetitive movement of wrists, hands, and fingers – typing and/or writing.
Ability to work frequently at close visual range (i.e. preparing and analyzing data and figures,
accounting, transcription, computer terminal, extensive reading).
Ability to receive and respond to oral communication.
Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in an office environment.
Noise level in the work environment is moderate to occasionally loud (examples: business office
with computers and printers, light to moderate traffic, human voices).
