Center Director - Center for Regenerative Sciences - Open Rank (Associate Professor/Professor)

Center Director – Center for Regenerative Sciences at the School of Dentistry, University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio.

The School of Dentistry at UT Health San Antonio invites applications for a full-time tenure track/tenured Associate Professor/Professor position to direct the newly established Center for Regenerative Sciences. The Director must be an outstanding established independent investigator committed to innovative research in stem cells and regenerative medicine and its clinical application, with the vision and administrative acumen to leverage the Center’s resources for growth and collaboration. Applicants must hold a PhD, DDS/PhD, or MD/PhD in the biomedical sciences and be a nationally recognized leader in regenerative sciences research with a strong publication record, an independent NIH-funded research program that complements the Center’s mission, and demonstrated leadership skills. 

The Center for Regenerative Sciences Director will foster and lead a thriving nucleus of productive, NIH-funded Principal Investigators. The Director will be expected to design and implement large-scale initiatives and multidisciplinary operational teams to translate research findings and establish independent funding for the Center. The successful candidate will also contribute to the school's overall mission, participate in teaching and clinical practice (if applicable), and interact with staff and students across campus. 

The Center Director will join an established and highly productive research community at UT Health San Antonio’s School of Dentistry, which ranks among the world's top ten NIH-funded dental schools. UT Health San Antonio is the home of several innovative, nationally recognized research institutes including the NCI-designated Mays/M D Anderson Cancer Center, NIH -funded Barshop Institute for Longevity and Aging, NIA-funded Alzheimer’s Research Center, and the NCAT-funded Institute for Integration of Medicine and Science. The Director will enjoy access to several state-of-the-art core facilities, including services and instrumentation specializing in flow cytometry, genomics/bioinformatics, light, electron and confocal fluorescence microscopy, proteomics/mass spectrometry, and a modern animal facility.
