This is a full time Plumbing position working at Northwest Medical Center.
Position Purpose:
Inspects, installs, repairs and replaces pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures to maintain the heating, water, gas and drainage systems of hospital facilities.
The Mechanic will work with the Director of Plant Operations, Facility Manager, and the Maintenance Team to maintain the Central Utility Plant (boilers and chillers) and other infrastructure equipment. The Mechanic will work with our team to maintain the larger equipment and BAS on campus. The Mechanic will also work with the team on other general maintenance and PMs on campus. Medical gas experience is a plus. Experience in a healthcare setting is a plus.
Work hours are Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm. On occasion, hours may flex as projects and emergencies dictate. This position would also be part of the rotating on-call roster.
Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements
Education:
Required: High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience
Experience:
Required: Four (4) years experience in plumbing.
Skills:
Read blueprints and diagrams, mechanical devices, water treatment, backflow testing, medical gases, fire sprinkler testing. Working knowledge of applicable codes and regulations for healthcare strongly preferred. Appropriate prioritization and planning skills, while achieving safety and quality in a high volume environment; Engaging and effective communication and service skills; Adherence to policy and procedures; Process improvement oriented; Self-initiative to assist with whatever is needed.
Licenses/Certifications:
Required: NMC - Valid Arizona Driver's License. Other facilities - none
