Housing & Dining Services ( HDS ) is the largest department on campus with 450 full-time staff and 1,700 hourly and student staff, and nearly 8,300 students live on campus. HDS is responsible for the management, finance, administration, and program development of all University housing facilities, including residence halls, university apartments, and Mountain Campus.

Residential Dining Services
Residential Dining Services’ ( RDS ) mission is to deliver an outstanding dining experience crafted by an engaged team dedicated to social and environmental responsibility. RDS operates 5 dining centers, 2 convenience stores, a full bakeshop, and a warehouse. We employee more than 1,000 employees who serve 12,000 meals per day to the 6,000 students who live on campus.

Position Summary
The Central Production Catering Coordinator contributes to a department responsible for a $45 million annual budget. This position is a part of the Central Production Catering operation. This position will assist with both operations and facilitate customer needs in person, over the phone, and via e-mail. This includes all forms of customer service communication, generating invoices, and explaining and promoting central production and catering operations. This position will assist with invoice payments, conference and event services, HACCP , menu management, and point-of-sale systems. This position will help review and submit suggestions for updates to procedure manuals for the central production facilities. The position will oversee student staff, inventory management, and sustainability efforts. This position will assist or implement training and development within the catering operation.

Required Job Qualifications
+ Possess a bachelor’s degree in a field such as Business Administration, Business Management, Restaurant or Hospitality Management, or a related field, or two years of general clerical experience within catering operations and a high school diploma or an equivalent.
+ Possess a valid driver’s license for at least three years.
Preferred Job Qualifications
+ Two years of experience with catering event planning and execution
+ Proficiency in utilizing MS Word, MS Excel, and other computer programs to perform record keeping, data entry, and other administrative tasks.
+ One year of experience working in a college or university food service environment.
+ Demonstrated work experience with a food safety program ( HACCP , ServSafe, or other comparable food safety program)
+ Experience providing a cross-functional team with good organization, accurate and timely written and verbal communication, and excellent customer service.
+ Experience with sustainability initiatives such as composting programs, energy and waste reduction efforts, and behavior change campaigns.

+ Provide onsite/offsite training and support for catered events.
+ First point of contact for the catering operation of Central Production Kitchen and will make multivariable decisions independently based on what is best for the unit/department.
+ Autonomously answer customers’ questions through written, face-to-face, and over-the-phone correspondence regarding menus, charge disputes, summer conferences in the dining halls, catering, dining center procedures, HDS procedures, general dining center operations, and campus resources.
+ During the summer, this position generates reports for finished conferences and will function as a dining conference liaison.
+ Keep historical records of the functionality of catered events.
+ Assist with the reusable container pickup program.

+ Process customer payments for catering services and invoices, including documenting payments received through the online catering website, or logging information in the internal database.

+ Implement structured training programs for service teams, career staff, and student managers revolving around customer service, food safety, and quality control.
+ Identify and support outside development opportunities for career staff, student staff, and managers.
+ Assist with training on all aspects of catering and events, mini-market operations, and robot delivery services.
+ Teach and manage cleanliness and sanitation practices and services that help to maintain the operation.
+ Promote, on-board, train, counsel and provide regular feedback for student managers.
+ Meet with Catering and Conference Manager regularly.
