Central Scheduler (PRN; Days)

**Position Overview**
We are seeking a **prne** Central Scheduler to join our team!
**Responsibilities**
+ Schedules appointments accurately
+ Obtains accurate information from physician office
+ Obtains accurate demographic and financial information for patient registration
+ Accurately informs caller of correct prep for the test being scheduled
+ Coordinates scheduling of special testing requiring anesthesia services, radiologist, pre-admission or other specialty area
+ Provides ease of access to patients and visitors by having knowledge of hospital layout and identifying them to guests
+ Assures patient safety by determining if testing is appropriate due to patient’s allergies, implants, claustrophobia, weight or other contraindications
+ Communicate with patients, family, or representative, hospital departments, and physician offices to obtain necessary patient information to ensure accuracy
+ Refers patient or representative to the Financial Counselor as appropriate
+ Schedules testing as ordered -asking clinical staff if question regarding order
+ Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and organized and function well under stressful conditions
+ Performs other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**
+ Minimum ofa High School Diploma required, Associate's Degree preferred
+ Minimum of two (2) years of scheduling experience in a radiology, cath lab or operating room strongly preferred
+ Familiarity with patient registration/ access functions
+ Excellent typing skills
+ Computer knowledge, skills and proficient in Microsoft Office
+ Knowledge of medical terminology
+ Excellenttelephone and customer service skills
