*The Impact You Can Make * *Team Impact* Central Supply Technician I is an entry level position within the Central Sterile Processing department. Under the direct supervision of certified individuals, the following approved infection control, performs cleaning, decontamination, assembly, wrapping or containerization, quality assurance, and distribution of reusable instrument trays and equipment throughout the hospital and health centers. A Central Supply Technician I is to provide professional, calm but immediate responses to all customers and staffing within Glens Falls Hospital and ancillary staff. * * *The Glens Falls Hospital Impact* *Mission* Our Mission is to improve the health of people in our region by providing access to exceptional, affordable, and patient-centered care every day and in every setting. * * *How You Will Fulfill Your Potential* *Responsibilities* * **Knowledge of proper use of sterilizers and various cycles * Responsible for daily chemical and biological testing on sterilizers * Knowledge of proper sterilizer record keeping as per policy * Knowledge of proper type of sterilization of various instrumentation and equipment * Knowledge of proper instrument tray setup with the use of T-Doc and count sheets * Knowledge of proper instrument names *Education/Accredited Programs* * High School Diploma or GED required * Preferred 1 year in of experience in a healthcare setting *Licenses/Certifications/Registrations* * Must obtain Certification as a technician (CSPDT or CRCST) through CBSPD or IAHCSMM after one year of employment *Skills/Abilities* * Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing with other hospital personnel and the public. * Ability to work effectively and professionally in a stressful work environment. * Ability to function in a team environment to provide best patient outcomes. * Ability to tolerate distasteful sight, sounds and smells. * Ability to provide knowledgeable answers for perioperative services and ancillary staff within the limits of all regulatory standards * * *Communities We Serve* Located in the foothills of the beautiful Adirondack mountains, Glens Falls is conveniently located a short drive away from the capital region and Lake George.
