Position Summary: Schedules inpatient or outpatient procedures. Informs patients and physician office of prep instructions or other test requirements. Correctly identifies the patient, matches medical records and facilitates hospital care.
Responsibilities:
Enters electronic orders accurately and timely. Receives written orders; verifies orders, equipment and information for accurate procedures, tests and therapy; schedules procedures, tests and preoperative clearance; and finalizes informed consent documentation. Selects appropriate supplies and instruments for cases. Collects patient identification and demographics, HIPAA forms, insurance information, collects co-pay, and documents indicated signs and symptoms, and consent for treatment. Receives written orders; verifies orders, equipment and information for accurate procedures, tests and therapy; schedules procedures, tests and preoperative clearance. Ensures accuracy of financial clearance for self pay patients through the CSR in Patient Accounts. Schedules appointments, tests and procedures; sends patient communication regarding appointments/tests/procedures; completes and maintains registration process.Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent;Preferred:
Associates preferred; preferred courses in medical terminology, business communication and computers.Infection Control: Initial and Ongoing training in dealing with infection control. Trainings could include but are not limited to, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids and bio hazardous materials as it applies to your daily work environment.
