Your role and responsibilitiesInstall, maintain and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.Read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints.Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate use of testing devices.Diagnosis, Root Cause analysis of GIS equipment.Troubleshoot and program PLC’s on Industrial Production Equipment.Repair and replace electrical equipment, wiring, and components in Industrial Production Equipment.Follow National Electrical Code state and local building regulations.Have a good working knowledge of VFD’s installation, troubleshooting, and setupMotor Controls Repair and TroubleshootingConduit bendingInspecting transformers and circuit breakers to ensure they are up to codePerforms preventative maintenance on electrical equipmentMaintains and repairs auxiliary power unitsTests established circuits for overload and determines circuit requirements for additional electrical equipmentAssists in reviewing plans, designing and construction of new electrical systems.Work on energized and de-energized circuits;Analyze the performance of existing equipment and evaluate options for future equipment installations.Use proper safety equipment including hot sticks, rubber blankets, rubber gloves, hard hats safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes and use of aerial lifts, scaffolding and ladders.Assists with managing projects as assigned; oversees vendors/contractors and colleagues when needed.Shift work, weekends, and/or holidays may be required.
Qualifications for the roleHigh School Diploma or equivalent required, Electrician Certificate or Degree from a Trade School or College.Preferred (8) eight years’ experience in Industrial Manufacturing environment as a Certified Maintenance Electrician.Industrial Electrician with blue print reading skills, PLC and electronics knowledge.Skills: Journeyman Electrician, NFPA 70E, FA/CPR/AED Certified, Lock Out, Tag Out, Health and Safety, OSHA Safety Standards, NEC – National Electric CodeCustomer Oriented Skills.Have the ability to troubleshoot, in a timely manner, different types of problems with automated machinery, presses, furnaces, HVAC, some plumbing, and other types of equipment as needed.Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings/blueprints and understand electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematicsMust be able to weld, have good use of hand tools, power tools and test equipmentGood team player, with displayed ability to work independently and safelyCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
