What you will do:
0.75FTE = 60 hours/every two weeks12-hour shifts (5:00 am-5:30 pm with an occasional 4:30 am-5:00 pm shift)Every third Saturday, every other holidayPrepare the dialysis machine, collect and document patient treatment data, initiate and discontinue dialysis treatments, and provide excellent patient care.What you will get:

Job Description:The Certified Hemodialysis Technician performs vascular access on a daily basis under the direct supervision of an RN. The technician prepares and programs the dialysis machine, collects and documents patient treatment data, initiates and discontinues dialysis treatments, and obtains lab specimens.
Major Responsibilities:1. Performs vascular access under supervision of RN.
2. Follows RN direction for patient target loss.
3. Monitors and reports changes in vital signs to RN.
4. Performs programming of heparin dose as directed.
5. Confers with RN/LPN related to patient needs.
6. Prepares renal catheters under aseptic technique and completes dressing changes.
7. Continuously observes patient during dialysis.
8. Collects patient data and enters it into the renal documentation system.
9. Transports patients to and from the dialysis station.
10. Obtains and records pre- and post dialysis weights.
11. Practices meticulous infection control precautions including good hand washing, the use of PPE and proper use and disposal of sharps.
12. Sets up, takes down and cleans the dialysis machine. Selects and sets up the correct dialyzer.
13. Sets up simple oxygen equipment under the direction of the RN.
14. Travels to Renal Satellite units to cover, as needed.
15. Checks and maintains the water system pre-treatment and as needed. Performs routine system sanitization procedures.
16. Performs other job-related duties as assigned/delegated.
Education and Learning:REQUIRED
High School Diploma or equivalency
DESIRED
Post High School education in a specialized field: Graduate of Renal Dialysis Technician program
Work Experience:REQUIRED
6 months patient care related experience. This may include clinical experience in a dialysis technician training program or in a Certified Nursing Assistant training program.
DESIRED
6 months Experience working as a Dialysis Technician or Certified Nursing Assistant.
License and Certifications:REQUIRED
Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) within 18 months of hire date (on-the-job training available)
Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands on learning) from one of the following programs; American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

OSHA Category:Category I - All Employees in this job title have a reasonably anticipated risk of occupational exposure to blood and/or other potentially infectious materials.
