Dimensions

This position will report to the Underground Mobile Maintenance Supervisor.

Purpose

The successful applicant must be competent in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining underground mobile equipment. Performing work on structural, mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.

Responsible for his/her health and safetyCorrect and report unsafe practices and conditionsMaintain a safe and healthful workplaceMake suggestions to improve any aspect of safetyFollow all Newmont Porcupine safety policies and proceduresEssential Duties Responsible for troubleshooting, disassembling, repairing, and performing predictive and preventive maintenance on underground mobile equipmentAdjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power toolsTest repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturer’s specificationsClean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work of equipmentService attachments and working tools such as blades, ploughs, winches and side boomsResponsible for compliance with OHSA, Corporate and Porcupine Environmental Regulations, Safety and Sustainability StandardsResponsible to work collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals both within the department and cross-departmentMust be highly motivated, organized and must be capable of decision-makingResponsible for providing own toolsAssisting in other works areas may be requiredTraining & Experience Truck and Coach Technician or Automotive Service Technician Must have experience maintaining underground mobile equipment including Kubotas, Polaris ATV, Toyota, Mincat.Excellent communication, interpersonal, computer and written skillsMust be able to organize work and self-motivateMust be willing to work with othersBe technically competentUnderground common core considered an asset.Working Conditions

This is a site based position in Timmins, ON supporting our Hoyle Pond underground operation.

The schedule is 4 days on 3 days off.
