Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Medical Assistant.

Position Status: Full Time

Position Location: Sentara Primary Care and Therapy Center Town Center

Standard Working Hours: 3 weekly 12-hour shifts and 1 shift every other Saturday (8 am - 2 pm).

Overview

Perform patient care related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluation, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Perform administrative duties, as appropriate.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Certification/Licensure

Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - Certification - American Medical Technologists (AMT) or EMT Basic-Certifications-National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)- Certification National Healthcare Association (NHA) or EMT Advanced-Certification -National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) or Paramedic

Experience

One year experience in a healthcare setting preferred
