Job Description
The medical assistant completes the patient intake process, assists clinicians with daily care, performs various medical tasks such as taking vital signs, and documents information in the medical record. The medical assistant also assists the clinician with administrative tasks including faxing and phoning in prescriptions, calling for reports and records, and collecting and relaying lab information. Supervision is provided by clinicians, RNs, and the clinical nursing manager.

This position offers a standard Monday to Friday schedule with hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and one evening shift from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm. No weekend work is required. The role is based at 5500 Knoll N Drive, Suite #370, Columbia, MD. The organization is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that functions primarily as a safety net provider offering multidisciplinary health care services to all individuals, with a special focus on underserved and marginalized populations. The work environment includes exposure to multiple specialties, such as adult and pediatric primary care, behavioral health and substance use, dental services, diabetes care, infectious disease management, LGBTQ services, Ob/Gyn care, full-service pharmacy services, psychiatry, and social services.
