Job Summary:
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to perform administrative and clinical tasks to support our healthcare providers in our Joint Institute. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing patients for exams, taking vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with procedures. Additionally, the CMA will perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and updating patient records.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for exams, take vital signs, and document patient information
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers
- Assist healthcare providers with procedures and exams, including orthopedic procedures
- Collect and process lab specimens
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Utilize evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care
- Schedule appointments, answer phone calls, and respond to patient inquiries
- Update patient records, scan documents, and maintain filing systems
- Prepare and send patient correspondence, such as test results and appointment reminders
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Utilize electronic health records (EHRs) and practice management systems to optimize workflows
- Assist with preparation and coordination of joint replacement surgeries
- Coordinate with orthopedic surgeons and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning
- Maintain knowledge of joint replacement procedures and protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and outcomes
Requirements:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in electronic medical records (EMRs) and practice management systems
- Knowledge of orthopedic procedures and protocols preferred

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
