JOB SUMMARY
The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for providing information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinical services. May be assigned to specific medical specialty department (e.g., orthopedics).JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum EducationHigh school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED), medical assistant diploma from an accredited vocational institution, or a community college course in medical assisting. If not yet a CMA you will receive all hours required for the CMA exam. Hendrick Clinic will cover the fee for the first exam.
Minimum Work ExperienceMinimum one year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and/or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office. Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection current experience.
Required Licenses/CertificationsCertified Medical Assistant within 26 months of hire
Must possess a current CPR certification Required Skills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesKnowledge of health care field and medical office protocols/procedures
Knowledge of specific assisting tasks related to particular medical practice
Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and families
Skill in performing medical assistance tasks appropriately
