JOB SUMMARY

Certified Medical Assistant to assist physician with the daily operations of the physician’s office. Maintains efficient patient flow and assists with patient care, i.e. exams, procedures and patient education under the direction and supervision of a physician. Performs triage, monitors and records vitals of all visiting patients. Ensures medical documentation of office visits. Assist with Office and scheduling coordinator in their absence (if necessary).

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience required to perform the job.

High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Graduate from Medical Assistant program requiredAt least 1 year of experience in a Medical Setting, preferable in a Physician PracticeCurrent American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider requiredEMR/EHR experience preferred, NextGen or Athena experience preferredProficiency in a windows environment with a working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and the Internet is requiredAbility to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and employeesWillingness to be flexible and adaptable in a complex, matrix environment

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION

Certified Medical Assistant through one of the following; National Healthcare Association (NHA), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant by the American Medical Technologist (AMT), National Center for Competency Training (NCCT), the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), or Healthcare Professional Registry of the US (HPRUS)Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider required
