Atlantic Urgent Care of Phillipsburg is seeking a Per Diem Certified Medical Assistant for Atlantic Urgent Care
Hours will be rotating on Saturday & Sundays
Responsible for providing general direct and indirect patient care in a clinical setting under the direct supervision of a physician. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure functionality of practice operations to provide excellent patient care. Ensures medical facilities run smoothly, and works in a clerical, administrative, or clinical capacity, and may even be asked to perform more specialized tasks.
Principal Accountabilities:
Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools.
+ The Certified Medical Assistant I (CMA) will perform clinical as well as administrative tasks including managing phones
+ Certified Medical Assistant will be managing patient flow, rooming patients
+ Also, taking vital signs, medication reconciliation, maintaining/prepping exam rooms, and other duties typical of a CMA in an Urgent Care Setting
+ Medication administration under the supervision of the clinician. Records medical information and test results, conducts patient interviews, takes and records vital signs, collects specimens, and administers medication under physician supervision.
+ Assists with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, ensures verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards.
+ Guides patients through the health care system and helps patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time.
+ Taking vital signs: Typically performed before a patient sees a doctor to establish a baseline for future exams
+ Assisting with examinations: Working closely with physicians to perform clinical tasks
+ Collecting and preparing laboratory samples: Instructing patients on how to collect samples or drawing blood
+ Excellent Communication, Work Ethic, Active Listening, Adaptability to working in fast pace environment, and hold upmost professionalism at all times. Strong written and communication skills
+ Greeting patients: Welcoming patients to the facility and Scheduling appointments: Organizing appointments for patients
+ Maintaining medical records: Recording patient medical histories and vital signs in the computer system
+ Cleaning patient rooms: Sanitizing and reorganizing patient rooms between visits
+ Prepping examination rooms: Ensuring the exam room is ready for the patient, including disinfecting equipment and stocking supplies
+ Provides emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
+ Assists with referrals of patients to the appropriate specialist for diagnosis or treatment.
+ Performs other related duties as assigned
Must be able to:
+ 3 twelve-hour shifts a week
+ Every other weekend
+ Must be willing to travel between offices
Required:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ **National Certification CCMA from: NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT.
+ OR Precertification agreement must be signed if expired or receiving certification within 60 days of employment.**
Preferred:
Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field.
+ 1 year of experience in Health Care services.
+ 2+ Years Experience in outpatient, Emergency Department or Acute care setting
+ Excellent Communication, Work Ethic, Active Listening, Adaptability to working in fast pace environment, and hold upmost professionalism at all times
+ BLS upon hire
+ DOT Drug Collector Certification Preferred
+ Breath Alcohol Technician Certification Preferred
+ Post externship physician practice experience preferred
+ Prior EMR physician practice experience a plus
+ Experience with EPIC a plus
+ preferred Emergency Department experience
