Atlantic Health system is seeking Full Time Certified Medical Asssistant (CMA) for busy Orthopedics office in NEW PROVIDENCE only. Hours are day shift, flexibility required 5x a week, Monday - Friday, 8 hour shift.
Responsible for providing general direct and indirect patient care in a clinical setting under the direct supervision of a physician. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure functionality of practice operations to provide excellent patient care. Ensures medical facilities run smoothly, and works in a clerical, administrative, or clinical capacity, and may even be asked to perform more specialized tasks.
Principal Accountabilities:
CMA - Certified Medical Assistant - Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools.
Records medical information and test results, conducts patient interviews, takes and records vital signs, collects specimens, and administers medication under physician supervision.
Assists with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, ensures verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards.
Guides patients through the health care system and helps patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time.
Certifed Medical Assistant - Taking vital signs: Typically performed before a patient sees a doctor to establish a baseline for future exams
Collecting and preparing laboratory samples: Instructing patients on how to collect samples or drawing blood
CMA - Communication, Work Ethic, Active Listening, Adaptability to working in fast pace environment, and hold upmost professionalism at all times. Strong written and communication skills
Greeting patients: Welcoming patients to the facility and Scheduling appointments: Organizing appointments for patients
Maintaining medical records: Recording patient medical histories and vital signs in the computer system
CMA - Certified Medical Assistant - Cleaning patient rooms: Sanitizing and reorganizing patient rooms between visits
Prepping examination rooms: Ensuring the exam room is ready for the patient, including disinfecting equipment and stocking supplies
Provides emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
Assists with referrals of patients to the appropriate specialist for diagnosis or treatment.
Performs other related duties as assigned to the CMA - Certified Medical Assistant
