Job Summary - Certified Medical Assistant II

7217 Telecom Parkway, Suite 100, Garland, 75044 - Family Medicine

Schedule is: Full time, Weekdays.  M-F, 8a-5p, with rotating Saturdays

\n

As a Certified Medical Assistant 2, you will help patients' physical well-being under a doctor's guidance. Tasks include updating records, giving injections, and more. Administrative duties like scheduling and staff training are also part of the job. This role emphasizes teamwork and a positive learning atmosphere.  Rare travel to sister clinics in Murphy Rockwall & Wylie West if coverage is needed

Essential Functions of the Role

\n\nOffering help during patient examinations and treatments, under the guidance of a physician.\nSetting up treatment rooms for patient examinations and ensuring their cleanliness post-procedure.\nAccompanying patients from the waiting area, preparing them for their examination.\nConducting patient interviews to obtain medical information and documenting it in their medical history.\nTaking and recording patient vital signs.\nCarrying out routine patient tests, processing electrocardiograms, and collecting specimen samples.\nAdministering medications as instructed by Physician.\nChanging dressings and removing sutures and staples.\nUndertaking administrative tasks like answering calls and scheduling appointments.\nPromoting team productivity through huddles and meetings, and assisting in the mentoring and training of staff members.\n\n

Key Success Factors

\n\nAn understanding of safe medical practice and precise medication administration.\nAptitude for documenting patient information accurately.\nCapacity to monitor patients' overall physical health, and report any abnormal findings.\nProficiency in administering injections and drawing blood.\nFamiliarity with medical terminology.\nExceptional patient care skills, including a comforting bedside manner.\nAbility to adhere closely to instructions given by physicians.\nExperience with medical charts and records.\n\n

Qualifications

\n\nHigh School Diploma or its equivalent.\nA minimum of (3) threeyears of professional experience.\nObtaining a Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) within (30) thirty days of joining.\nMust be a CMA from one of the following: Nat Cert Med Asst (NCMA) from NCCT, Cert Med Asst (CMA) from AAMA or ARMA, Cert Cln Med Asst (CCMA) from NHA, Reg Med Asst (RMA) from AMT, AAMP, or AAH, Nat Reg Cert Med Asst (NRCMA) from NAHP, Cln Med Asst Cert (CMAC) from AMCA.\n
