Certified Medical Assistant II- Bridgewater
Responsible for providing general direct and indirect patient care in a clinical setting under the direct supervision of a physician. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure functionality of practice operations to provide excellent patient care. Serves as a patient advocate and assist patients in navigation along the care continuum with the goal of facilitating effective quality care and timeliness, resulting in improved patient satisfaction. Principal Accountabilities: 1. Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools. 2. Documents appropriate correspondence, assessments, and care in patient's electronic medical records (EMR). 3. Assists with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, ensures verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards. 4. Monitors environment for compliance with continual accreditation readiness and evaluates practice schedule for changes or updates. 5. Demonstrates knowledge of the certified medical assistant scope of practice, incorporating elements of holistic patient-centered and team-based care. 6. Guides patients through the health care system and helps patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time. 7. Provides emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation in accordance with the patient's plan of care. 8. Assists with referrals of patients to the appropriate specialist for diagnosis or treatment. 9. Performs other related duties as assigned. 10. Obtain prior authorizations for advanced imaging and specialty medications. Required: 1. High School Diploma or equivalent. **National Certification CCMA from: NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT. OR Precertification agreement must be signed if expired or receiving certification within 60 days of employment.** Preferred: 1. Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field. 2. 3-5 years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or relevant area. 3. National Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program. 4. National Certified Medical Assistant designation. 5. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and re-certification every two years.
