Aspirus Waupaca Clinic in Waupaca, WI. is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant or Medical Assistant to join our team!

The Medical Assistant assists in the delivery of health care to patients including maintenance of clinical record/documentation. Performs a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for medical staff. The position requires the ability to make decisions consistent with clinic policies and the strict observance of confidentiality of patient information.

HOURS: Full-Time 1.0 FTE. 80 Hours Biweekly

Experience/Qualifications

Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through graduation from an accredited MA program or three years equivalence in medical background and experience.Previous healthcare experience beneficial.Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration required or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire for Certified Medical Assistant (Job Code 30071) and Certified Medical Assistant – PM (Job Code 30187). Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable BLS training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED. (See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Policy).Certification desired for Medical Assistant (Job Code 30069) and PM Shift (Job Code 30070).Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations, and procedures to administer patient care.Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions.Skill in preparing and maintaining records and responding to correspondence.Skill in developing and maintaining relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.Ability to maintain quality control standards.Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.Ability to interpret, adapts, and applies guidelines and procedures.Possesses good verbal and written communication skills.Ability to maintain teamwork effectively with co-workers.Annual competencies as required by Aspirus and/or various regulatory agencies based on entity and/or job position.Surgical First Assist call coverage may be required after successful completion of training program.Currently holds certifications or documentation of training in DOT urine drug screen collection, DOT breath alcohol testing, saliva testing, hair drug collections, NIOSH certification for spirometry, CAOCH certification for audiograms, and ability to perform respirator fit testing or must obtain and be proficient in all noted areas within 9 months of hire.
