Certified Nurse Assistant / Mental Health Tech - Full Time

Jennie Stuart Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nurse Assistant / Mental Health Tech to join our team at the JSH- Medical Center. This full-time, regular/at-will position is integral to our commitment to providing exceptional patient care. The successful candidate will assist licensed personnel in a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing the quality of care for our patients. Key responsibilities include attending to patients' personal hygiene needs, assisting with activities of daily living, and ensuring patients' comfort. The role also involves monitoring and recording vital signs, input and output, and assisting with specimen collection. The Certified Nurse Assistant / Mental Health Tech will be expected to maintain a safe and clean environment for both patients and co-workers, promptly respond to patients' call lights and requests, and report observations to the nursing staff. Professionalism, dependability, and effective communication are essential to foster good working relationships and instill confidence in patients. The role may require reassignment to different areas of the hospital to meet patient care needs and may include specialized duties with appropriate training and approval. The ideal candidate will be a team player, committed to continuous learning, and able to adapt to the dynamic needs of the healthcare environment.
Required Skills
+ High School Graduate or GED equivalent.
+ Successful completion of Nurse Aide course or equivalent.
+ Active registration on the Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry (For CNA's).
+ Current BLS Certification—American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or American Red Cross (Healthcare Provider).
+ Ability to provide personal hygiene care for patients, including bedpans, baths, shampoos, and shaves.
+ Skills in assisting with activities of daily living, such as feeding patients and helping with mobility.
+ Competence in performing vital signs checks, weight measurements, and specimen collection.
+ Knowledge of input and output monitoring procedures.
+ Capability to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and colleagues.
+ Proficiency in transporting patients and equipment safely and appropriately.
+ Excellent communication skills to maintain good working relations with nursing unit personnel and other hospital employees.
+ Flexibility to accept reassignment and perform specialized tasks with training and approval.
Required Experience
+ Experience as a Mental Health Tech is essential.
+ Proven track record of providing patient care in a healthcare setting.
+ Experience in observing and reporting patient conditions to nursing staff.
+ Prior experience in a hospital or medical center environment is preferred.
+ Familiarity with healthcare safety standards and infection control protocols.
+ Experience working effectively as part of a healthcare team.
+ Demonstrated dependability in attendance and punctuality.
+ Experience with specialized equipment and procedures in specific care areas, with appropriate training and certification (if applicable).
+ History of adapting to the changing needs of patients and the healthcare environment.
