Job Summary
We are looking for a mission driven Certified Nurse Midwife dedicated to serving underserved and diverse communities. As a Nurse Midwife you will provide primary medical care services to patients of Sea Mar Community Health Centers in accordance with training, experience, certification, insurance and licensure in a manner consistent with guidelines established in the principles of practice at Sea Mar and its mission statement. As a Nurse Midwife you will be part of a care team working to provide quality comprehensive services to Sea Mar patients as well as work collaboratively with staff to provide team-based coordinated care.
Responsibilities and Duties
The CNM provides primary well woman, family planning, antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care services to patients of Sea Mar Community Health Center in accordance with training, experience and licensure, in compliance with the principles of practice of Sea Mar and its mission.The CNM will consult with an appropriate physician (family practice, OB/GYN, pediatrics, or other specialist) as needed when patients care needs arise outside the scope of his or her training.The CNM will provide appropriate hospital care as required.The CNM may refer patients to medical specialist or other sources of service when necessary.The CNM prescribes and/or dispenses required medication to patients according to the individual prescriptive authority granted by the Washington State Board.The CNM provides professional supervision to the assigned staff of nurses and other paraprofessionals.The CNM participates in preventive health programs such as immunization, disease detection and disease prevention activities. Including education programs for patients and community groups in the service area.The CNM works closely with administrative personnel including the Clinical and Medical Director, preparing reports, grant proposals and other administrative activities when appropriate.High risk antepartum and intrapartum conditions would necessitate the CNM to initiate the process currently defined by the standards of the community.Qualifications and Skills
Graduation from an accredited training program or an acceptable equivalent. BoardCertified with appropriate Nursing Specialty Board.Washington State license to practice medicineminimum of 2 years of experienceprior experience in community health is preferredBilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred but not required
