Reviews and accurately records laboratory results in prenatal record. Reviews and interprets laboratory results with client. Refers abnormal results to case manager for follow-up.Assesses need for referral to other healthcare providers.Educates patients and their families and encourages participation in healthcare related decisions.Participates in constant labor and delivery coverage for caseload. Exercises discretion and judgment when evaluating and determining disposition of clients in triage area appropriately.Collaborates, consults, and refers with physicians in accordance with practice guidelines and nurse-midwifery regulations. Acts as stand-by for unattended private deliveries when physician is unavailable. Acts as Cesarean section first assist for clients and private physicians as needed.Completes post-partum rounds and discharges in a timely fashion. Completes billing slip at time of discharge.Participates in multi-disciplinary conference. Attends at least 50% of Obstetrics Department meetings annually.
